I have set up a Patreon campaign:
Check it out.
My goals are fairly modest, we are looking to raise $X to $Y per video, this would give me enough of a budget to get some really cool ideas shot.
You can see the rewards in the campaign.
What kinds of ideas? Well I have a stack of ideas…over 200 in fact.
Moving Images Project: Nearly everything you see in the gallery here:
Will have a video version shot…except of course those we cannot show on youtube…
I will try to get the original models whenever possible too.
Short Series: I have plans for a several short series, this would be played out 1 episode per month, leaving the other video to be something else.
Fairy Tales: Yes everyone has done the modern take on fairy tales, where the big bad wolf if a werewolf or whatever. So let’s not do that. Take the story, and update it, certainly. Most of these were told for a moral, or had a kernel of real event inside them. That would be fun to explore.
Creepy Pasta: Because why not? some of them (very few) could be made into interesting videos.
FX based shorts: Most of what we are doing could be considered this. I call it the Micheal Bay Method. The plot is thin, but it shows we could do a cool effect, so we build what we can around it.
Fantasy, Sci-fi, Horror, Surreal and Comedy. And blends of those things….
How This will be different than other similar channels:
Most of the other channels that do this sort of thing seem to lean to the video game sides of things, which is fine. They have that covered and are welcome to it. I love twisting ideas. I love seeing exploring what else an idea implies for for it’s world. And I love doing weird effects that are a bit creepy.
No videos, no charge. Patreon would only take your money when I publish something, nothing published, nothing charged. that means each month funds the next month’s videos.
And you could put a cap on how much you want to give per month of course. You can see all the details on Patreon’s site. It is a pretty good setup I think.
